Bug Fix Advisory Stronghold: Updated crypto-utils package fixes certificate management issues

Advisory: RHBA-2002:168-04
Type: Bug Fix Advisory
Severity: N/A
Issued on: 2002-08-01
Last updated on: 2002-11-07
Affected Products: Red Hat Stronghold for Enterprise Linux
OVAL: N/A

Details

An updated crypto-utils package is now available which fixes various bugs in
the certificate management utilities included in Stronghold 4.

The crypto-utils package included in Stronghold for Red Hat Advanced Server
provides a set of SSL certificate and private key management utilities.

Several bugs were found in the version of this package included in
Stronghold 4.0; in particular, the getca tool for processing
a signed certificate from a Certificate Authority did not work
correctly.

Users of Stronghold 4.0 for Red Hat Advanced Server are advised to upgrade
to the errata packages which fix these issues.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.

To update all RPMs for your particular architecture, run:

rpm -Fvh [filenames]

where [filenames] is a list of the RPMs you wish to upgrade. Only those
RPMs which are currently installed will be updated. Those RPMs which are
not installed but included in the list will not be updated. Note that you
can also use wildcards (*.rpm) if your current directory *only* contains the
desired RPMs.

Please note that this update is also available via Red Hat Network. Many
people find this an easier way to apply updates. To use Red Hat Network,
launch the Red Hat Update Agent with the following command:

up2date

This will start an interactive process that will result in the appropriate
RPMs being upgraded on your system.
